Our 8 days from Marrakech to Nomadas and Valleys will start with A private 4×4 car will pick you up from your Marrakech hotel at 8:30 am and drive you to Ouarzazate over the High Atlas highlands. Our path will lead us to Tizi Ntichka port, the highest point in our nation at 2.260m. While traveling, we will stop to snap photographs of Berber communities and enjoy stunning vistas from overlooks. Next, we’ll take a little road to Telouat Kasbah. Visitors to the kasbah will have opportunity to eat local cuisine in town. In the afternoon, continue through the Ounila valley, passing by berber villages and adobe houses, to reach the fortified village of Ait Ben Haddou, home to the UNESCO-designated Kasbah. This stage has hosted several famous film shoots, such as Gladiator, Obelix, The Mummy, The Jewel of the Nile, and Sahara starring Penélope Cruz. After viewing the kasbah, we will visit Ouarzazate, often known as “The gate of the desert”. Dinner at the hotel where we’ll stay overnight.
Following breakfast, we will go to the Draa Valley, home to one of Morocco’s longest rivers. We pause to snap photographs of the roadside kasbahs and berber communities and the Draa valley. After a lunch break at Nkob or Alnif, we will drive to the Merzouga dunes after two hours. Powdery sand dunes desert. We will switch from motorized conveyance to animal traction to explore the desert. We stay in camel-hair tents like nomad families at the camp. Under the stars, dinner and night in the berber tent.
Complete a desert day with a “date with the sunrise.” Wake up early in the desert to see the best sunrise from a dune near the tent. Return to Merzouga on camels for a sumptuous meal. Skirt Erg Chebbi, a large sandy desert with Morocco’s 250-meter Big Dune. The old “Paris-Dakar” road terminates in the Agelia mountains. Visit Tissardmin oasis for fossil quarry and nomad dwellings. Enjoy a panoramic view of Erg Chebbi before visiting Kamilia Village for tea and a Gnawa spiritual music event. Transfer to your hotel and spend the afternoon exploring the town or dunes for sunset. Dinner and motel overnight.
Leave the desert after breakfast to see Erfoud’s fossilized marble industry and Rissani market (Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays). Continue to Touroug and Tinjdad palm plantations before reaching climber-friendly Todra Gorges. Enjoy lunch and a short stroll to see the scenery. Stop at “monkey legs.” at Boumalne Dadés to reach the Dadès valley in the afternoon. Dinner and sleep in Dadès Gorges Riad for the fourth day of 5 days from Marrakech to Nomadas and Valleys.
Indulge in brunch and take in the breathtaking views of Dadès valley from a strategic vantage point in the highlands. Experience the beauty of the kasbahs that line the tourist route, such as the Skoura palm grove and the Roses Valley.
Visit the Kasbah of Taourirt in Ouarzazate, which was previously the residence of the Marrakech pasha. Additionally, there is an optional tour of the cinema studio and museum. After a meal in the city, we will return to Marrakech by way of the Tizi Ntichka mountain pass, where we will make several photo stops. Arrive in the city by 6 p.m. and conclude services.
In the morning visit to the Medina at Marrakech with a local guide. We`ll start admiring the great wall bordering the Medina, the Koutoubia Minaret, this tower is the twin of the one in the Giralda in Seville. Then we`ll visit the Saadines Tomb, Bahia Palace, Majorelle Gardens…etc reaching finally the square Jamaa El Fna where the background is completely different from the night. In the evening free time to practice your haggling art in the souk or discover hidden places at the Medina. Accommodation at the riad.
